Interview with my Nan

My Nanna (Leonora Howells)  came to Penygloddfa school when she moved from Brecon to Newtown in 1963.

She said the school looked very different back then as it was much smaller, it had one entrance and fewer Class rooms.

It was only a infant school then so there was a lot less chilrden as you can see in the picture.

The headteacher was called Mrs Evans.

her favourite school trip was too Chester Zoo and they had to wear cardboard badges with their name on.

It was a long long time ago so…NO COMPUTERS!!!!!! She remebers playing hopscotch and tick (Tag) on the playground.

There wasnt a uniform back then. She studied arithmatic  (math) and reading.

One of her memories is when she was chosen to be an angel in the nativity play when she was 6 (as seen on the picture).
